2026 Alaska School Psychologist of the Year: Kristen Allton

Picture
Kristen has an incredible ability to provide exceptional services at her own schools, but for several years has taken on a supervisory role for Interns and has come into those schools to provide exceptional service as well. As a supervisor, she has an incredible ability to provide guidance while encouraging learning and fostering a “whole-student” approach. She is a big part in why there have been more interns in Mat-su in recent years and really pushes hard for strong benefits and learning opportunities/support for the interns. Kristen has also, for years, built from the ground up multiple programs in the district that have helped provide an alternative placement for students who may not fit well in other programs. Kristen has also lead the school psychologists of the district for several years and has been easily the most reliable, hopeful, advocate, and leader I think we could ever have. Kristen Allton deserves to be recognized for her outstanding performance for years and nearly every way a school psychologist is asked to perform and also serval duties we are not asked to perform. She always goes above and beyond and is widely appreciated for her contributions.
